My Role

My role in this project was to design a game using Spare Snacks’ existing characters. I worked on the gameplay, the concept/how it plays, and illustrating objects for the game.

This project is still in progress.

About Spare Snacks

Spare Snacks is a UK based company dedicated to cutting down on food waste. They take misshapen, unwanted (but still perfectly delicious) fruits and turn them into air-dried chips.

The Why

Spare Snacks currently has three different apple characters used throughout their packaging, stickers, and coloring sheets.

Creating a branded game will create a stronger connection between their target audience and the characters. This game also brings their message forward about reducing food waste.

The Game

Spare Snacks acts as a hero to misshapen fruit, and we wanted to carry that into a game experience.

In the game, we wanted the player to act as an “apple superhero.” The player’s mission is to save all the fallen, bruised apples.

CURRENTLY

This project is still in the works. We are currently working on animating the entire game. We are also working on including more environments, expanding the ride options, and creating more obstacles for the players to encounter.

We will design scannable packaging and social ads to promote the game.
